Copacabana Lounge Chair
Taking one of the most important designs of Mathieu Matégot’s career – 1955’s Copacabana Chair – GUBI has given the piece a 360º upgrade while preserving the designer’s distinctive vision. An elegant swirl of stainless steel topped with a soft, circular cushion, the Copacabana has been adapted to move seamlessly between indoors and out. The seat and backrest angles have been optimised for comfort when sitting, and new durable, weather-resistant upholstery fabrics are combined with frame options in black and a new bright and brilliant International Orange. These sensitive enhancements in colour, function, and ergonomics have resulted in a design icon of the mid-20th-century, reinvented for the 21st.
